The Foundation at Work
Intergenerational Living and Health Care is already hard at work across the
country. We're offering programs that enhance the lives of seniors and
young people each and every day. And with your support, we can reach so
many more. Here's a sampling of programs already in place:
Intergenerational Learning Center, Eagan, Minnesota
In this innovative learning environment for those six weeks to eight years
of age, children not only develop confidence, skills and self-esteem, they
also build meaningful relationships with residents of the senior community
next door, The Commons on Marice.
The Commons on Marice, Eagan,
Minnesota
A gracious senior living community, The Commons on Marice offers 156
residences where seniors choose independent living with optional services, or
assisted living with around-the-clock staffing and personal and health-related
services. The Memory Center cares for individuals with Alzheimer's
disease and is designed with a residential feel to familiarize residents with
their surroundings to maximize independence while maintaining a safe
environment.
The Inn at Westport, Sioux Falls,
South Dakota
At this senior living community, teenagers and seniors gather for a
"senior prom" hosted by the local high school's honor society.
Seniors live at The Inn on Westport in 134 independent and assisted living
residences in a beautiful, park-like environment.
Valley View Estates, Hamilton, Montana
At this long-term care community serving 98 older adults, residents and
children work side by side to create gift packages for disadvantaged
children. This is just one of the many intergenerational programs that
has helped this community win several awards for its innovative care from the
Montana Health Care Association.
The Peaks, Flagstaff, Arizona
Unlike any senior community the country, The Peaks shares its campus with
the renowned Museum of Northern Arizona and with a nationally acclaimed
charter high school. Residents of The Peaks tutor students at the
charter school and assist in museum programs. Seniors can choose
independent living at The Bungalows or in The Lodge. The Peaks also
provides assisted living, progressive memory care and skilled nursing.
This community was developed through a nonprofit partnership between
Intergenerational Living and Health Care, the Museum of Northern Arizona and Northern
Arizona Healthcare.
